| I had heard many of the ghostly stories that were associated with the property over the years. There has been many eye witness accounts from the security guards whom were also good friends of mine at the time. The stories always start out with hearing voices but no one is in sight. The security guards had spent many nights chasing phantoms throughout the buildings and on the grounds to find nobody was around. You could hear laughter or whispering or a woman crying. But when you go to the area, there would be no one. I was skeptical at first. Having been there for many years, I never thought of it as being "haunted". One night, my husband and I were on the second floor of the wood building. We were gathering up some of our personal belongings that were being stored there. Other than being dark and spooky, I was comfortable with being there. As my husband and I were going through boxes, we heard footsteps by a wooden cage that was located on the same floor but at the opposite end of the floor. It sounded like someone wearing boots. But we did not see anyone. Then my husband responded with, " I never liked that cage." I asked him why and he responded with "It just freaks me out! It's spooky in there!" This led me to ask him if he thought it was haunted. He said he didn't only think it...he knew it! I asked him if he thought it would be alright to investigate there since the plant had closed early this year of 2008. This is where our journey begins. |
| Of course, after hearing the reaction from my husband, I quickly assembled our crew and had everyone out there that weekend. I believe this was back in February of 2008. I had a pretty full crew. I believe there was sixteen of us in total including our JR GCOPS crew. Our first night was an awesome experience! We had instant activity. We were getting strong EMF spikes on the 2nd floor near dock 13. It was isolated in this one certain section. There are no wires running under that section of the floor. The spikes were just unexplained. My husband is an electrician and searched the 1st floor for an explanation. But he could not come up with one. Later, we had several members claim to have been touched by unseen hands. This could not be verified, of course. One crew member claimed to have been jabbed in the side. Like someone had taken their elbow and nudged her. Although personal experiences are awesome, it is not evidence. Just another story. But it was still exciting nonetheless. |
